Now I Too Am Old
Once upon a time
but not so long ago
I stood defiant and aflame
and told the world so
Silence crept upon me
and time kept passing by
Now I offer answers
To another persons �Why?�
Now I say �Calm down�
and �It can�t be all that bad�
I laugh outloud, forgetting
the passion I once had
Betraying who I was
I�ve gone to the other side
I just couldn�t help myself
Believe me, how I tried
Now I speak clich�s like truth
Expecting they�ll be heard
I find that I embody
What I once felt was absurd
Can�t say they didn�t warn me
Goodness knows that I was told
It happens to us all eventually
And now, I too am old
