Locked Doors

Welcome home beeps the burglar alarm
No one was welcome today
The answering machine screening my calls
Has very little to say

A friend has come to knock at my door
A friend I've never met before
Knock as he might, I can't answer his call
Because I don't talk to strangers at all

Behind locked doors, remote control safe in hand
I have the world in a box that I command
Hiding away where no one needs me
Sheltered and safe and thinking I'm free
